Dear friends let me begin by introducing myself, I am Dr. Anupam Jena, Interventional Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist. This is my personal blog. I am working in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. This blog is only meant for educational and academic purposes. The type of articles published or discussed here are meant for the general public and doctors . The articles deal with information about the heart, cardiac diseases, latest developments in the field of cardiology, discussion of cardiology cases and other problems and controversies in cardiology.
Cardiology is a rapidly developing branch. Innovations and discoveries are happening daily. Treatment modalities which were relevant yesterday lose their relevance today and this happens for the better. For example even few years back there were very few treatment options available for patients with heart failure, except taking medicines, but now many newer modalities have come up like CRT (Cardiac resychronization therapy), ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) etc. Similarly in the field of management of disorders of heart rhythm many new modalities are becoming more widely available, like catheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias, 3D mapping of arrhythmias etc. So in an attempt to keep myself updated and to share with friends and colleagues that I embark on this endeavor of knowledge sharing.
